Ruth Costello is a member of the Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury groups at No5 chambers.
Ruth is regularly instructed in clinical negligence cases including obstetric, surgical, spinal injury and cosmetic surgery. Ruth also has experience of acting in inquests involving potential clinical negligence.
Ruth has a strong background in serious injury, having worked on catastrophic injury cases as legal assistant to Gerard McDermott QC. Ruth assisted on high profile cases including Royal Bank of Scotland v AB [2021] EWCA Civ 345 and the Grenfell Tower personal injury litigation.
Ruth has also worked as Legal Services Manager at a medico-legal and case management agency. This role relied on forensic analysis of expert reports and an understanding of the needs of people who have suffered serious, life changing injuries.
Ruth accepts instructions in multi-track and fast track cases and inquests.
Ruth works across the wide spectrum of personal injury law with a particular emphasis on serious injury work, inquests and fatal accident claims. Ruth acts for both claimants and defendants.
