Rachael accepts instructions in both public and private children matters.
Rachael has always been client focussed. Meticulous in preparation and personable in approach. Where necessary she will advocate on behalf of her client without fear but is always pragmatic and practical in the advice given.
Rachael has also worked as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Law and the University of Birmingham. She is accredited as an advocacy trainer by the Advocacy Training Council. She has taught the skills of advocacy at both postgraduate and post qualification stages. She is a Higher Rights trainer and assessor.
Rachael has experience representing local authorities, parents, extended family members, children instructing their own solicitors and CAFCASS Guardians. She has dealt with Special Guardianship, placement and adoption applications, as well as secure accommodation orders.
Rachael has dealt with proceedings involving non-accidental injury, sexual abuse, emotional harm and chronic neglect up to and including High Court level.
Rachael has worked with many vulnerable clients, including those requiring the assistance of the Official Solicitor.
Rachael has dealt with complex proceedings involving intractable positions on contact and the transfer of living arrangements.
