His busy practice covers the full range of criminal offences. His instructions in silk include cases of alleged homicide (including child homicide), terrorism, drug trafficking, serious sexual offences and fraud.

He is instructed by the CPS’ Complex Casework Units, Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division and London Homicide Unit.

He acts for professionals, including police officers, teachers and members of the medical and legal professions, who find themselves before the criminal courts.

Harpreet receives instructions to represent those who are particularly vulnerable and those with mental health difficulties.

Sexual Offences

R v Baker (Wolverhampton Crown Court) [2022]
Harpreet prosecuted a man indicted with offences, including  multiple counts of rape and offences of violence, committed against two women. The defendant was convicted on all counts. Harpreet led Andrew Wilkins [Cornwall Street Barristers].

R v B (Warwick Crown Court) [2022]
Harpreet defended a business man charged with rape and associated sexual offences. The defendant was acquitted on all counts.

R v A (Birmingham Crown Court) [2024]
Harpreet defended a retired financier indicted with a series of sexual offences.  The defendant was acquitted on all counts.

R v A and B (Warwick Crown Court) [2024]
Harpreet is instructed to prosecute two defendants accused of the sexual and physical abuse of a child. Harpreet leads Chloe Ashley.

Terrorism

R v Khan and Khan (Birmingham Crown Court) [2023]
Harpreet was instructed by the CPS’ Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division to prosecute two brothers who were convicted of preparing for acts of terrorism. They had made preparations to join ISKP. The defendants pleaded guilty after Harpreet opened the case to the jury. Harpreet led Kelly Brocklehurst [2 King’s Bench Walk].

R v A, B and C (Preston Crown Court) [2025]
Harpreet is instructed by the CPS’ Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division to prosecute three defendants.  Harpreet leads Kelly Brocklehurst [2 King’s Bench Walk].

Fraud

R v H and others (Birmingham Crown Court) [2025]
Harpreet is instructed to prosecute four defendants who are alleged to have entered an international money-laundering operation valued at £30 million. He leads Simon Hunka.

Drug Offences

R v Ramzan and others (Shrewsbury Crown Court) [2023]
Harpreet was instructed by the Complex Casework Unit to prosecute 12 defendants indicted with conspiracies to supply class A and B drugs. The trial lasted three months and resulted in convictions. Harpreet led Lisa Hancox [St Philips Chambers.]

R v M and others (Stafford Crown Court) [2024]
Harpreet was instructed by the Complex Casework Unit to prosecute several defendants who supplied substantial quantities of cocaine through the use of Encrochat and their associate, a probation officer, who misconducted herself. Harpreet led Cathlyn Orchard.

R v Reilly and others (Worcester Crown Court) ) [2024]
Harpreet was instructed by the Complex Casework Unit to prosecute a multi-handed case in which the defendants were indicted with conspiracies to supply class A and class B drugs.  He led Steven Molloy [2 King’s Bench Walk].

Misconduct in Public Office

R v P and another (Birmingham Crown Court) [2024]
Harpreet is instructed by the CPS’ Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division to prosecute a former police officer who committed misconduct in a public office and her former partner who encouraged her offending.

Human Trafficking

R v Brayan and another (Nottingham Crown Court) [2022]
Harpreet was instructed by the Complex Casework Unit to prosecute two men who were convicted after trial of facilitating others’ illegal entry into the UK.

Homicide

R v Phillips (Stafford Crown Court) [2022]
Harpreet defended a man charged with murdering a retired priest with whom he shared a hospital ward. The defendant’s plea to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility was accepted. Harpreet led Tom Walkling [St Philips Chambers].

R v Miller (Warwick Crown Court) [2022]
Harpreet defended a man charged with manslaughter and associated offences of violence. Causation was in issue. Harpreet led Simon Hunka.

R v Goodwin (Birmingham Crown Court) [2023]
Harpreet defended a man charged with murdering his friend by stabbing him repeatedly. Harpreet led Sharon Bailey [Tuckers Solicitors].

R v Whelan (Warwick Crown Court) [2022]
Harpreet prosecuted a driver who pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of one pedestrian and causing serious injury to another pedestrian by dangerous driving.

R v Przybyla (Stafford Crown Court) [2023]
Harpreet prosecuted a man who was convicted of murdering his housemate through the infliction of fatal head injuries. Several experts were called to deal with causation. Harpreet led Sharon Bahia.

R v X (Wolverhampton Crown Court) [2023] 
Harpreet prosecuted a 17-year old defendant who was convicted of manslaughter. He had inflicted a fatal stab wound to his 15-year old victim. Harpreet led Cathlyn Orchard.

R v Edney (Worcester Crown Court) [2023]
Harpreet prosecuted a man who was convicted of murdering his partner through sustained violence before abandoning her body in a ditch. Several experts were called. Harpreet led Sharon Bahia.

R v Donald and others (Warwick Crown Court) [2023]
Harpreet prosecuted five men accused of killing one man and causing serious injuries to three others. After a trial lasting several weeks, one defendant was convicted of murder and three were convicted of manslaughter.  They were convicted of associated offences of violence. Harpreet led Peter Grieves-Smith [CPS].

R v M (Nottingham Crown Court) [2024]
Harpreet was instructed by the Complex Casework Unit to prosecute a man who stabbed his father repeatedly and killed him.  The defendant was indicted with murder but, based on psychiatric evidence, the prosecution invited the jury to convict him of manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility. The defendant’s case was one of lawful self-defence. He was convicted.  Harpreet led Sarah Knight [The 36 Group].

R v Mohammed (Birmingham Crown Court) [2024]
Harpreet was instructed by the Complex Casework Unit to prosecute a man who killed his three-week old son and assaulted his mother and his wife. The defendant suggested that he was not guilty by reason of insanity. He called three consultant forensic psychiatrists in support of his defence. His defence was tested and rejected by the jury. Following a trial which lasted almost five weeks, the defendant was convicted of manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility (as the prosecution suggested he should be) and of two counts of unlawful wounding. Harpreet led Daniel Oscroft.

R v Homer (Worcester Crown Court) [2024]
Harpreet was instructed to prosecute a man who pleaded guilty to attempting to murder his partner and murdering her mother. Harpreet led Lachlan Stewart.

R v Al-Mitheab (Birmingham Crown Court) [2024]
Harpreet prosecuted a man who was convicted (after a four-week trial) of murdering his erstwhile friend by stabbing him. Harpreet led Graham Russell [Citadel Chambers].

R v S (Worcester Crown Court) [2025]
Harpreet is instructed to prosecute a man indicted with the murder of his wife. Harpreet leads Tom Walkling [St Philips Chambers].

R v X (Leicester Crown Court) [2025]
Harpreet is instructed to prosecution a 15-year old defendant who is accused of murdering an 80-year old man.  Harpreet leads Daniel Oscroft.

R v B (Lincoln Crown Court) [2025]
Harpreet is instructed to prosecute a man indicted with wounding one man with intent and murdering a second man by stabbing him repeatedly.

R v H and others (Central Criminal Court) [2025]
Harpreet is instructed by the London Homicide Unit to prosecute four defendants indicted, variously, with manslaughter and conspiracies to rob and burgle. He leads Rebecca Austin [2 King’s Bench Walk].
