Ffyon represents both appellants and respondents in Special Educational Needs (SEN) appeals before First-tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability). Ffyon is regularly instructed on appeals concerning disputes surrounding Sections B, F and I of the Educational, Health and Care Needs Plans (EHCPs), as well as appeals arising from the Local Authority’s refusal to assess a young person’s EHC needs. She also represents parties in Judicial Alternative Dispute Resolution (JADR) hearings prior to Special Educational Needs and Disability Appeals.

Appellate work
Ffyon was recently led in the Court of Appeal by Philip Rule KC in Fajr Ellis v Secretary of State for Justice this considered Article 2 of Protocol 1 to the European Convention on Human Rights, A2P1 – the right to education.
Ffyon has significant experience in working with children and young people. She has represented vulnerable clients and examined vulnerable witnesses and is trained in Advocacy and the Vulnerable. Ffyon is a qualified mediator.
Ffyon was a school governor for five years and is a Senior Lecturer at a London University. Ffyon has a good understanding of operational and policy matters concerning schools and universities.
