Inquests
Ffyon is regularly instructed to represent the interests of the bereaved family at inquest, arising from a range of contexts.
Ffyon is said to work very well with families, lets their voices be heard and works collaboratively with them, putting them and their concerns at the forefront of the inquest. She understands that every family inevitably suffers through the process, and that each family requires a different approach. She takes time to listen and adapt to each family’s unique experience and to frame the approach with them. She enjoys being instructed in an inquest from the outset and working with instructing solicitors, and the family, to shape the scope of the inquest. She can also make an impact if instructed at the eleventh hour and will work hard to ensure the families concerns and their unanswered questions are addressed.
Ffyon started her career at the Bar as a criminal advocate and has a strong background in jury trials. Her understanding of police law and prison law can be invaluable. She is hard working and down to earth.
Ffyon is committed to access to justice and will consider pro bono instructions in non-Article 2 inquests where families cannot access funding for advocacy at the inquest.
