She enjoys the particular challenges that clinical negligence work brings, including the variety of medical specialisms that she encounters and the necessity of getting to grips with complicated expert evidence in a short period of time.
Charlotte has experience of cases against GPs, private medical professionals and NHS trusts. In addition, she has dealt with medical claims arising from care provided in a care/nursing home environment, for example the development of pressure sores.
Charlotte has experience advising in cases against dental practitioners. This has covered both routine and cosmetic dentistry, from minor damage or loss of a tooth, through to significant tooth loss and the need for extensive restoration work.
Charlotte has experience in cases involving spinal injury, from whiplash claims through to more recently advising in conference and drafting pleadings alleging unnecessary and improperly consented scoliosis surgery in a child.
She is currently instructed in a case involving an allegation of delayed diagnosis of spinal infection, leading to spinal instrumentation surgery and an incomplete spinal cord injury.
Charlotte was instructed in an Above Knee Amputation case that recently settled for in excess of £1million. She was originally instructed prior to issue and advised throughout, including representing the Claimant at the settlement meeting in July 2024.
Charlotte has experience of cases involving a range of cancers, from those that are cured completely through to terminal cases, and so understands the particular difficulties that can arise in terms of breach, causation and quantification.
A recent example is a claim that settled in summer 2025 involving a failure to diagnose atypical hyperplasia leading to a late diagnosis of endometrial cancer, with the patient dying due to bowel obstruction. There were complexities regarding causation, with Charlotte advising prior to issue and drafting the pleadings.
Charlotte has advised in a number of cases involving obstetric and gynaecological issues, including stillbirths, and understands the sensitivities involved in such cases.
In December 2025, Charlotte assisted Henry Pitchers KC by updating a Schedule of Loss in a cerebral palsy case, with a claimed value of over £10million.
Charlotte has been involved in cases covering a range of medical and surgical issues, including failures by GPs, NHS trusts and private medical professionals. These have involved patients who both have full capacity and those who have lacked capacity due to either mental or physical impairment, or as a result of being a child.
Charlotte is currently being led by Henry Pitchers KC in a fatal case arising out of an incorrect diagnosis of lymphoma.
She is also being led by Chris Bright KC in a case due to proceed to trial in 2026 involving a delayed diagnosis of appendicitis, which resulted in multiorgan failure and in respect of which the Claimant alleges she suffers from Functional Neurological Disorder.

In 2014 Charlotte acted for the Defendant in a collision where liability was admitted and damages for the cost of repair had been paid. She successfully argued that the Claimant’s evidence that they had suffered a diminution in value of the vehicle over and above the cost of repairs was inadequate to prove any loss was in fact suffered.
