Andrew Rhodes is an experienced barrister, practising in employment and discrimination, personal injury and clinical negligence.

Expertise

Employment

Recent instructions include:

  • Acting in a ten day hearing concerning constructive dismissal, breach of contract, direct sex discrimination, sexual harassment and victimisation.
  • Successfully acting for a local authority in a nine day hearing concern race discrimination.
  • Successfully acting for the Respondent in a four day hearing in a claim for failure to make reasonable adjustments.
  • Successfully acting for the Respondent in a six day hearing in a claim for constructive dismissal, harassment and failure to make reasonable adjustments

In addition to the above, Andrew advises on and acts in a range of claims including equal pay claims, TUPE, whistleblowing and a variety of discrimination claims. He has acted for a number of clients including local authorities, NHS trusts, government departments and well known companies in the private sector.

Discrimination

In addition to his employment law practice, Andrew advises on and acts in discrimination claims brought in the civil courts, including claims against landlords, schools and companies.

Personal Injury

Andrew has significant experience in personal injury claims, both on the fast track and multi-track.

He has particular experience in:

  • Road traffic accidents
  • Occupier’s liability claims
  • Public liability claims
  • Claims under the Highways Act

Clinical Negligence

Andrew has acted in a variety of clinical negligence claims, including dental negligence.
