Mark Heywood KC is instructed for the defence in the trial of R v Dale Cole, currently underway at Stafford Crown Court, in which Chloë Ashley, led by Edward Brown KC of QEB Hollis Whiteman, appears for the Crown.
The trial, which began on 23 February 2026, concerns the death of Lisa Holland, aged 39, who died on 20 October 2022 at the home she shared with the defendant. The prosecution’s case is that Ms Holland’s death was not accidental. The court has heard evidence concerning the injuries identified at post-mortem, together with evidence relating to the circumstances at the address on the afternoon of her death and the nature of the relationship between Ms Holland and the defendant.
The defendant denies murder, and the trial continues.
