Today we’re pleased to spotlight our next pupil Marika Cash, Marika will commence her second six on Tuesday 5th May 2026, and from that date will be accepting instructions in a broad range of immigration and public law matters.
In relation to immigration law matters, Marika will be accepting instructions across the full spectrum of both “personal” and “business” immigration matters, and is particularly keen to accept instructions in asylum and humanitarian protection cases. Under the supervision of Danny Bazini (Head of the No5 Immigration Group), Marika has had exposure to a variety of asylum and immigration appeals and judicial reviews in the First-tier Tribunal, Upper Tribunal, and Administrative Court, and also assisted in the currently pending Jamaican country guidance case regarding gang violence.
Marika will also draw on her previous experience of working at Richmond Chambers LLP, where she frequently drafted advice and legal submissions relating to spouse/partner cases under Appendix FM, Private Life cases and other human rights matters, EU Settlement Scheme, Sponsor Licensing and work visas, the Global Talent route, and citizenship cases including both naturalisation cases and registration cases for adults and children.
In relation to public law matters, Marika will be accepting instructions in relation to age assessments (both at the judicial review and fact-finding stages, as well as prior advisory and preparatory stages), asylum support/community care, actions against police, prison law, inquests and inquiries, and education law.
She will draw on her frequent exposure to age assessment matters during her first six, and on her prior work at Irwin Mitchell LLP where she assisted with numerous inquests and actions against the police, most notably in relation to the Sara Sharif inquest. Marika has also assisted members of Chambers in high-profile cases – most notably, the recent Chagossian case heard before the Supreme Court of the British Indian Ocean Territory, the Court of Appeal case of Derby CC v R (UYR) regarding the test for the grant of interim relief during age assessment proceedings, and the security for costs application in Mehul Choksi’s claim for conspiracy against the Government of India and others.
To instruct Marika, please contact her Practice Director Abdul Hafeez or the clerking team at immigration@no5.com or publiclaw@no5.com .
