No5’s Philip Rule KC, Alex Heylin and Daniel Henderson were privileged to prepare, along with Emily Hayward and Abdul Rashid Ismail, barristers of the Bars of England and Wales and of Malaysia, the amicus intervention submissions for the Commonwealth Lawyers Association and the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute filed at the High Court of St Kitts & Nevis on 25 September 2025.
The High Court is determining the constitutionality of the death penalty and has granted permission for the intervention to be filed by the CLA and IBAHRI. A hearing is presently due in November.
