Today (1st August 2025), the High Court has handed down judgment in the case of Quarry Mews Ltd v Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government [2025] EWHC 1968 (Admin). By the judgment the Appellant’s appeal against an enforcement notice issued by the Second Respondent, Oxford City Council, was dismissed. The issues in the case included the application of the public sector equality duty in the context of a planning enforcement notice. Howard Leithead acted for the successful First Respondent, the Secretary of State.
