A defendant who had pleaded guilty to causing the death of a 4 week old baby by dangerous driving, and causing serious injury to the child’s father, was sentenced today [16th of May] to 14 years imprisonment. Craig Nunn, who had been driving at speeds of between 92 and 60mph shortly before the collision, went straight through a red light on the A451 near Kidderminster and collided side on with their vehicle. He was nearly twice the drug drive limit at the time. The mother, who was also injured in the collision, administered CPR to the baby but sadly the baby was pronounced dead at the scene. Nunn was also disqualified from driving for 18 years and 2 months. Cathlyn Orchard appeared as prosecution Counsel.
