No5’s Michelle Heeley KC was invited to Philadelphia to train young American lawyers as part of their National Advocacy Training Programme.
Michelle has been an Advocacy trainer for over 15 years and was responsible for the roll out of the Vulnerable Witness training programme.
Having previously trained Prosecutors at The Hague she was invited to work with Her Excellency Joanne Korner KC of the International Criminal Court as part of a training initiative run by the Inns of Court College of Advocacy and the American Inns of Court.
The programme saw Michelle teaching in the Federal Court House in Philadelphia before attending a Board of trustees reception and then dinner at The Supreme Court in Washington. The week highlighted the ties between the UK and the USA, with Michelle meeting many US judges and lawyers.
