Rambo Baeram was unanimously convicted by a jury of 2 counts of Attempted Kidnapping, 2 counts of assault by beating and 1 count of sexual assault following a 5 day trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court prosecuted by Sarah Slater.  He targeted two lone young women who were walking home late at night in Walsall and were complete strangers to him.

The first incident happened at around 1:10 on the 28th February 2024 in Scarborough Road, Walsall and CCTV from a nearby house showed how he waited in his car for the victim, then grabbed her from behind and tried to force her into his Audi vehicle.  Her screams could be heard on the footage. He then punched her to the face when he did not succeed and fled the scene – she reported this immediately to the police. Only 3 days later on the 2nd March 2024  he was out again – this time in Hawes Road, Walsall and targeted another lone female.  Again CCTV from a nearby house was obtained by the police which showed him immediately grab her and try to pull her into his vehicle.  He sexually assaulted her and then pushed her onto a nearby gravel drive and punched and kicked her.  Her screams could also be heard on the footage.  The victim pressed the emergency button on her phone to contact the police and he then fled.

He was arrested 2 days later and has been in custody since.  He will be sentenced on the 18th October 2024.
