Tuesday 1st October 2024 – Conduct in financial remedy proceedings
Anna Rohan and Femi Ogunlende will discuss the current law as it relates to ‘conduct’ in financial remedy proceedings and will provide an overview of the recent decisions of Peel J in Tsvetkov v Khayrova and N v J. They will examine what these decisions mean for future cases where conduct is in issue, with particular emphasis on examining how the issue of domestic abuse should be approached.

Anne Smallwood will review the recent developments in the law relating to the division of assets on divorce and ruminations upon the apparent direction of the courts in relation to the concept of the matrimonial ‘pot’.

Monday 4th December – Enforcement Work
Using realistic scenarios, James Snelus explores the typical enforcement problems that financial remedy practitioners face. Particular focus is on procedural steps and potential pitfalls. The format of this event will be an interactive workshop and attendees will be encouraged to be actively involved.
As this is a workshop, in person attendance is encouraged. Online attendees will be required to have their cameras on and be encouraged to speak.
