A convicted terrorist has been sentenced to Life imprisonment with a minimum 20-year term, having been convicted by a jury after a trial prosecuted by Michelle Heeley KC.

The PhD student who had chemical and mechanical engineering skills has been utilising his capabilities to develop and build a drone that could deliver an unmanned bomb.

The trial heard from experts in drone technology, ISIS methodology and chemical weapons. The court also heard how the defendant utilised social media to access and disseminate extremist material.

The defendant denied all charges but was convicted after a 5-week trial.
