No5 are delighted to announce that Rebekah Wilson (Call:1998), Christopher McWatters (Call: 2004), Davina Krishnan (Call: 2004), Artis Kakonge (Call:2006) and Nisha Bambhra (Call: 2011) have joined the Family Group from Garden Court Chambers. All five will be based at Savoy Court in London, undertaking all areas of Family Law and Court of Protection.
A highly experienced and dedicated child and family law practitioner, Rebekah acts in factually and legally complex cases for all parties in Public Law and Private law proceedings (securing residence orders, contact orders and orders involving removal from the jurisdiction) and all matters involving the rights of children in the High Court Family Division .
Chris is a highly experienced barrister in all areas of Children’s Law, including Public Law, Private Law as well as International Child Abduction. He represents parents, guardians, local authorities, family relatives and intervenors at all levels including in the Court of Appeal.
Davina has a thriving and specialist practice in all areas of family law and is instructed in all areas of Children Act work. She is well known for her calm approach and effectiveness in difficult situations, meticulous preparation, robust cross examination and ability to build rapport with clients, opponents and judges alike.
Artis is a Family Law specialist with a particular interest in Adoption and Education Law . Within her care practice Artis is often instructed by local authorities and guardians and within her private practice Artis represents clients in both Private Children and Financial Proceedings. Artis is described as ‘Approachable counsel who will always give measured, realistic and sensitive advice, as well as robust representation’.
Described as ‘an approachable, fair minded and emphatic barrister who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience when representing her clients’, Nisha has a busy practice in both Private and Public Law family matters with a keen interest in Court of Protection work. Nisha also has experience of cases involving forced marriages, Female Genital Mutilation as well as international jurisdictional matters including relocation and abduction.
