No5 Barristers’ Chambers is delighted to announce that David Gardner has been shortlisted for the ‘Legal Aid Barrister Award’ for this year’s Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards.
The awards Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year (LALY) awards are the only annual event solely dedicated to celebrating the work of grassroots social justice lawyers.
Upon being nominated, David said “I am both delighted and shocked to be nominated. There were some really very kind letters of support from other legal aid practitioners, all of whom have incredible public law practices themselves, and I am very grateful to them all. Legal aid is so important to supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society and I consider myself privileged to be a small part of the system which helps to do so. Recognition of this at an event as prestigious as the LALYs is wonderful”.
Head of the Public Law Group, Philip Rule KC said “It is immensely pleasing to see that David’s hard work in achieving fantastic results for his clients, his high-quality advocacy in court in England and Wales, and his tireless extra-curricular work to disseminate legal knowledge, has led to his being short-listed for Legal Aid Barrister of the Year at this year’s prestigious LALY awards. No5 Chambers’ Public Law Group looks forward to supporting David at the event and wishes him luck! He fully deserves the recognition for his achievements”.
The awards ceremony will take place in central London on the 12th July.
