No5 Barristers’ Chambers are delighted to welcome Mian Sheraz Javaid as our newest Door Tenant.

Sheraz is dual qualified as a civil engineer and barrister. His Dispute Resolution practice encompasses  Construction, Engineering, and Energy Law. He is known for his expertise in International Arbitration, Adjudication, Mediation, Neutral Evaluation, and Expert Determination and maintains rights of audience as an advocate in the AIFC Court (Kazakhstan), DIFC (Dubai), and courts of Pakistan.

Sheraz has extensive commercial law experience in the construction and energy industries. He has analysed, drafted, negotiated, and advised on a broad range of commercial contracts, including licensing, and regulatory issues, and has conducted different forms of ADR proceedings, litigation, and other construction-related complexities. He particularly excels at implementing dispute avoidance mechanisms, successfully advising stakeholders in the construction and energy industries along the project lifecycle through ground-root involvement by training managers on standard forms of contract and ADR.

He is on the Approved Faculty List (AFL) with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and provides training in International Arbitration, Domestic Arbitration, Mediation, Adjudication, and specialised modules such as FIDIC forms of contract to engineers, barristers, solicitors, and public sector organization employees across the globe.

Sheraz has been instrumental in developing dialogue between the legal fraternities of Pakistan and the United Kingdom to strengthen rule of law and bring legislative reform to the legal system in Pakistan. Sheraz will be operating out of Pakistan where he will be fulfilling his duties as the founding Chair of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Pakistan Branch along with other responsibilities.”
