No5 Barristers’ Chambers is delighted to announce that Sapandeep Singh Maini-Thompson has joined chambers and will practice in public law, employment and regulatory. Called to the Bar in 2021 and a member of The Middle Temple, Sapandeep joins chambers after gaining experience with the Cleaners and Allied Independent Workers Union (CAIWU), where he represented members in Employment Tribunal claims as well as in internal grievance and disciplinary hearings. Sapandeep also brings a wealth of language skills, where he is an advanced speaker of French, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.

Sapandeep has worked as a legal researcher for the Uyghur Tribunal and is a frequent contributor to the UK Human Rights Blog. In addition, Sapan’s work on the human rights compliance of terrorism law was cited by the Independent Reviewer for Terrorism Legislation in his 2021 report on the operation of the Terrorism Acts.
