Dewinder Birk has been appointed to the role of District Judge

No5 Barristers’ Chambers is proud to announce that Family Law barrister Dewinder Birk has been appointed to the role of District Judge.

Dewinder’s appointment as a full-time District Judge was made official on 10^th November 2020. Dewinder’s last day in chambers will be 20^th November.

Dewinder said: “I am thrilled and delighted but at the same time very sad to be leaving No5 and especially my teammates and clerks in the Family Group.

“I have always been encouraged to seek judicial appointment, but it was important to me to do so when the time was right for my family.

“I pay two particular tributes – firstly to the sisterhood at the Bar – I am lucky to have known such incredibly talented, inspirational and supportive women and secondly to my own special cheerleader – my sister, Sukhwinder Hazra.“
