No5 Barristers’ Chambers is delighted to welcome Gurprit Mattu to the Business and Property Group.
Gurprit Mattu, called to the Bar 2007; and the British Virgin Islands (BVI) 2019 specialises in contentious banking and finance matters, shareholder disputes, contentious trusts, insolvency and regulatory matters. She has particular expertise in financial services regulation, litigation and corporate fraud. Gurprit has also spent time in Hong Kong as a Pegasus Scholar, working in law firms and the Hong Kong Arbitration Centre.
Gurprit has significant experience within financial services having been seconded to the Financial Conduct Authority, where she worked on a number of large cases relating to collective investment schemes, Libor manipulation, unfair contract terms in consumer contracts and corporate fraud. She has advised HSBC Bank Plc, Global Markets for a number of years in their Early Neutral Evaluation process of derivative misselling claims and the assessment of consequential loss claims.
