No5 Barristers’ Chambers joined forces with Moore Blatch Solicitors to host an “inspiring evening” to mark the centenary of women in law.
The event attracted a cross-section of barristers, solicitors, paralegals, legal executives and clerks from No5 and Moore Blatch Solicitors and included a keynote speech from corporate trainer Hannah Beko on being your authentic self in the legal workplace.
The event, entitled Women in Law – Celebrating 100 Years, also saw No5 barristers Esther Gamble, Yasmin Yasseri and Mamta Gupta join Hannah, Amandeep Khasriya and Sarah Giles, both of Moore Blatch Solicitors, for a panel discussion on issues that affect women in the legal workplace.
Esther hailed the event as an ‘inspiring evening’, adding: “We had a fantastic turnout, of both men and women. Hannah’s talk was fascinating, exploring why having the courage to be true to yourself in your professional life – being vulnerable and showing compassion – can lead to greater wellbeing and professional success.
“The panel discussion, covering issues ranging from flexible working to diversity in leadership to menopause, prompted thought-provoking questions from the audience and practical suggestions for solving problems and overcoming challenges.
“It was fantastic to hear all the enthusiastic conversations afterwards as attendees shared their experiences and ideas, thinking about what they can do to help increase equality and diversity in their workplace.”
