Ten Years of the Administrative Court in Wales: Success or Failure?

The UK Administrative Justice Institute has published a blog post by Dr Sarah Nason and David Gardner that summarises their presentation at this year’s Legal Wales Conference on 11 October 2019. Dr Nason and David spoke on the topic of “Ten Years of the Administrative Court in Wales: Success or Failure”.

Dr Nason and David concluded that whilst the Administrative Court in Wales has been a constitutional success and a jurisdictional improvement, the access to justice aims of ‘decentralising’ the Administrative Court in Wales, as well as in England, have been significantly undercut, potentially even reversed in some locations, by the impacts of legal aid reforms.
