No5 Barristers’ Chambers’ Neil Chawla has been selected as the first Master of the Midland Circuit of Lincoln’s Inn.
His appointment follows shortly after he was elected as a Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn – one of the youngest elected in recent years.
Master of the Midland Circuit is a new position, created this year, as Lincoln’s Inn look at ways to engage with members outside of London on the Circuits.
Neil said: “As Master of the Circuit, and assisted by an appointed representative, I will act as a line of communication between the Inn and its members outside of London, organise new Inn events and initiatives on Circuit and encourage engagement through existing Inn events and activities on Circuit. The Master of the Circuit should be a Master of the Bench or a senior member on Circuit.”
Tony McDaid, Chief Executive and Director of Clerking at No5 Barristers’ Chambers, said: “We are delighted at Neil’s election as a Bencher and that he then went on to successfully apply for the role of Master of the Midland Circuit.

Neil Chawla is a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution, Commercial Litigation, Criminal Fraud and Proceeds of Crime, Inheritance Wills Trusts and Estates, Insolvency, International Human Rights, Mediation, Personal Injury and Property groups at No5 Barristers’ Chambers.
