Counsel at No5 Barristers’ Chambers was part of the prosecution team which secured a murder conviction following a fatal stabbing in Brixton.
Harpreet Sandhu prosecuted in the trial of 17-year-old Rishon Florant who was found guilty of murdering Glendon Spence in a youth centre.
Florant, of Peterborough Road, Waltham Forest, will be sentenced on October 11, following his trial at the Old Bailey.
Co-defendant Chibuzo Ukonu, 18, of Loughton, Essex, was convicted of manslaughter. He had admitted being present and in possession of a knife but denied intending to harm anyone or causing any injuries to Mr Spence. However, he told the court that the younger teenager had carried out the stabbing.
Judge Mark Dennis QC decided to lift an order banning identification of the younger defendant in light of his conviction.
On February 21, Glendon Spence, 23, and his friends sought refuge in the Marcus Lipton Youth Centre, as they were being chased by two teenagers armed with knives.
The jury heard that Mr Spence, a youth club regular, tripped and fell before being attacked. Mr Spence, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was stabbed in his thigh, severing the femoral artery. He also suffered defensive cuts to an arm and hand.
The jury heard that the attack was captured on CCTV. However, Florant denied being involved and claimed he had been wrongly identified.
Jurors were also told that the defendants were dropped off at the scene in a BMW 5 Series, which had been bought by Ukonu days before. After the attack, the fire-damaged vehicle was found on the Peabody Estate in south London.
Florant was arrested as he tried to catch a flight to Uganda from Heathrow Airport the following day, while Ukonu took a coach to Manchester.
