A convicted murderer making headlines for warning teenagers of the risks of arming themselves with knives was prosecuted by John Butterfield QC of No5 Barristers’ Chambers at his 2015 trial.
Sadam Essakhil was 15 when he murdered Lukasz Furmanek in Handsworth on 31 May 2015. He is now featuring in a video warning young people of the dangers of carrying knives for ‘protection’.
He and his co-accused Abdullah Atiqzoy, defended by No5 Barristers’ Chambers Mark Heywood QC, denied murder charges, but were convicted at Birmingham Crown Court in December 2015.
