The Queen has appointed a member of the Crime Group at No5 Barristers’ Chambers to be a Circuit Judge, on the advice of the Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales.

Samantha Crabb was appointed on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Inner London Crown Court with effect from October 8.

Samantha, who was called to the Bar in 1996, will be known as Her Honour Judge Crabb.  She was also appointed as a Fee-paid Tribunal Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber in 2011.

CEO and Director of Clerking Tony McDaid said: “We are delighted to congratulate Samantha on this achievement.  She has been an outstanding member of the Bar and of No5 Barristers’ Chambers and I have no doubt she will be equally as successful on the bench.”
