A QC and two counsel from No5 Barristers’ Chambers are facing each other in court in a murder trial in which a businessman is accused of murdering his seamstress wife and soliciting the murder of his first wife.
Gurpreet Singh, 43, of Coalway Avenue, Penn, Wolverhampton, has denied both counts at Birmingham Crown Court.
David Mason QC and Harpreet Sandhu are leading the prosecution in the case, while Talbir Singh is defending.
Sarbjit Kaur, 38, was found dead at her home in Rookery Lane, Penn, Wolverhampton on February 16 last year.
Singh is alleged to have strangled his wife, who ran a sewing business from the family home, with the help of an accomplice between 8.15am and 9am after dropping his children at school and before leaving for work.
He is also accused of soliciting the murder of his first wife, Amandeep Kaur, the children’s mother, in 2013.
