Michelle Heeley QC has seen her client acquitted in a murder trial following the fatal stabbing of father-of-two Lee Marshall.
Michelle represented one of three teenagers, two aged 17 and one aged 16, who cannot be named, who were found not guilty of murder and the alternative of manslaughter.
It had been alleged by the prosecution they all took part in a joint attack on Mr Marshall, kicking and punching him, and, in the course of that attack, Mr Marshall, from Bulwell, was stabbed leading to major blood loss.
Adam Ward, 18, of Watford Road, Aspley, was cleared of Mr Marshall’s murder but found guilty of manslaughter. Co-accused Calvin Turner, 18, of Commercial Road, Bulwell, was cleared of murder and manslaughter unanimously.
Aaron Aziz, 29, of, Bilborough, was found guilty of assisting an offender after he drove Ward away from the area following the killing.
The verdicts were given after a long trial at Nottingham Crown Court.
