The 250 members and all the staff at No5 Barristers’ Chambers have launched a Christmas appeal to help the homeless.

Each of Chambers’ four regional offices have chosen a homeless charity in their area to benefit from practical support in providing basics such as food, bedding and personal hygiene products for homeless people.

The four charities to benefit are Let’s Feed Brum in Birmingham, Crisis in London, the Julian Trust in Bristol and The Bridge in Leicester.

CEO and Director of Clerking, Tony McDaid, explained: “For any number of reasons there are hundreds of people rough sleeping on the streets of our towns and cities across the UK.

“The nature of our work means we are often in contact with people who are living very difficult lives and we are only too pleased to be able to give something back to the organisations that provide essential support services.”

Birmingham

Let’s Feed Brum is a charity providing food, drink, essential supplies and friendship to people living on the streets.

The Birmingham office is looking for donations of:

  • Crisps, chocolate, biscuits, packet soups and snacks
  • Small bottles of water and soft drinks
  • Sleeping bags and warm practical clothing
  • Toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shower gel, baby wipes and tissues

Crisis provides vital help so that people can rebuild their lives and are supported out of homelessness for good.

The Bridge – Homelessness to Hope is an outreach to the lost and lonely people of Leicester, helping the homeless and anyone feeling they have nowhere to go or no-one to turn to.
