No5 Barristers’ Chambers are delighted to announce the ongoing partnership with Birmingham City Football Club for a further season. The deal will once again see No5’s logo emblazoned on the back of both Blues’ home and away kits for a fourth successive season.
The ground breaking and hugely successful partnership with the Blues, which began in 2015, has seen No5 elevated to more than just a logo on the shirt through a range of initiatives and events over the past three seasons, including a number of charity initiatives and events.
Most recently, No5 donated their back of shirt sponsorship for the #GetShirty campaign. The campaign put the spotlight on four Birmingham-based charities – Citizen Aid, Cure Leukaemia, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and St. Basils. Fans were given the chance to vote for their favourite charity to feature on the back of the Blues shirts for the home game against Wolves in April. Birmingham Children’s Hospital won the overall vote over the whole campaign, which also included a popular fundraising evening that raised over £5,000 for all four charities.
Other initiatives included matchday raffles where funds were raised for Headway – the brain injury association. No5 raffled signed Blues’ shirts in the club’s corporate hospitality areas and the popular raffle became a fun and enjoyable part of the club’s corporate matchday experience.
No5 and BCFC are also working in conjunction to host a charity event in support of Cure Leukaemia, The World Cup Cook-off will see Michelin star chefs Glynn Purnell and Luke Tipping host and create a unique World Cup themed menu. They will be joined by several former Blues international players for a range of fun and games ahead of the England vs. Tunisia opening group game, which will be shown live on a big screen in the Jasper Carrot Suite.
Tony McDaid, CEO and Director of Clerking at No5 commented: “When we set off on this journey it was and remains a first for a barristers chambers and, as with all firsts, it was speculative. Three years on we have developed a mutually beneficial relationship and bond with the Blues and many of its partners that goes beyond mere business.
The collaborative relationship we have formed with Birmingham City has led to us creating numerous initiatives to the benefit of local and national charities. This is something both No5 and the club are particularly proud of and we are in active discussion as to what we can do together over the coming season.
The appointment of Gary Monk has been another key factor in our renewal. He is without doubt one of the best up and coming young managers in the country and we are very excited by the prospect of him using his talents to get the team back where they belong.”
Ian Dutton, Head of Commercial at the Blues said: “I am absolutely delighted that No5 Barristers’ Chambers have agreed to extend their deal for a fourth consecutive season. This level of sponsorship continuity can be rare, so it is a testament to No5’s commitment to the club and the wider value they receive through their association with us.
We have a proven track record in working successfully together with some outstanding initiatives within the community.
The pinnacle of the season for me was the #GetShirty campaign, it was a well-planned and truly integrated campaign that gave No5 the chance to engage with our fan base and create a great opportunity to raise a good amount of funds for local Birmingham charities. We are already looking forward to the next big campaign we’ll be delivering with their team next season!
Their continued support and loyalty to the club is very much appreciated, and we are really excited about working with No5 for next season and many more seasons to come.”
