No5 Chambers’ Barrister S Chelvan provided training on LGBT asylum law and procedure to representatives of the Albert Kennedy Trust yesterday afternoon in our London office.   The Trust sent representatives from all three of their offices in London, Manchester and Newcastle.

The Albert Kennedy Trust is a charity that has 28 years experience of providing safe homes, support, training and mentoring to LGBT young people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment after coming out to their parent or care giver.

The aims and objectives of the seminar was to inform and empower support workers and officers with information regarding  the law and procedures surrounding making an asylum claim based on sexual or gender identity or expression in the UK.
