Three barristers from No5 were involved in the high profile Kingsley Burrell trial, in which three police officers were cleared of perjury and perverting the course of justice.
Paul Adey, 36, Mark Fannon, 45 and Paul Greenfield, 30, were found not guilty at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday morning, in connection with the death of mental health patient Kingsley Burrell.
Mr Burrell, 29, died from brain damage following prolonged prone restraint in March 2011.
It was alleged the officers failed to say that Mr Burrell, who suffered a cardio-respiratory arrest, had his face covered as he lay face down on a bed at the city’s Oleaster mental health unit.
Michael Burrows QC and Matthew Brook from No5 Barristers’ Chambers prosecuted the case, while Adrian Keeling QC defended Paul Greenfield.
