Jonas Hankin QC of No5 Barristers’ Chambers was defence barrister at Birmingham Crown Court in the widely publicised stabbing of a Stourbridge woman and her son by the homeless man she helped.
Aaron Barley was sentenced to life in prison for the murders of Tracey Wilkinson and her teenage son Pierce.
Barley, 24, pleaded guilty to the charges and will serve a minimum of 30 years.
Defence barrister Mr Hankin QC argued that Barley should not receive a whole life term, which would have meant he was never released from prison.
