A former police officer from Shropshire has been jailed for six years for killing a mother and daughter in a five-car crash.

At Stafford Crown Court Vinod Dahiya, 45, pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and one count of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

It was heard that Dahiya’s car crashed into the victim’s car in July 2015 and he had been sacked for gross misconduct from West Mercia Police in November 2015 for lying during a police interview.
