A security worker who threatened to release sexually explicit photographs of a celebrity has been handed a 12-month suspended prison sentence at Winchester Crown Court, in which Saleema Mahmood defended in.

The defendant faced trial on a single count of blackmail against a celebrity figure. The Prosecution sought to prove that the defendant had come into possession of 28 sexually explicit photographs which would have caused significant embarrassment to the celebrity involved and his ex-partner.

The defendant engaged in twitter conversations with the celebrity to encourage him to purchase the photographs rather than see them sold to media publications. The defendant was covertly recorded in telephone conversations with the celebrity to arrange a price and venue for the exchange of the photographs.
