Michael Duck QC, member of No5 Chambers Crime Group, is representing PC Gallacher at the inquest into the death of Stefan Boswell.

Stefan Boswell, 20 from Wolverhampton, was killed in an accident on the A5, following a high-speed pursuit on 6th June last year, after he had stolen a car from a driveway in Craven Arms.

Mr Boswell was being perused by a police car driven by PC Gallacher, when he died after losing control of the car going the wrong way around the Emstry Island and crashing.

The jury at the inquest heard that PC Gallacher had gone against pursuit procedure by also driving in the wrong lane. He said: “I felt it was completely the right thing to do in the circumstances. I felt like I had to protect the public travelling on that road. I had a second or two to make a decision and it was my absolute belief that these were exceptional circumstances.”
