75 open market homes together with 50 extra care affordable housing units including 10 bungalows were granted permission on appeal at a site adjacent to Broadway.
The planning authority Wychavon District Council had refused planning permission on several grounds including the fact that the site was in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the major development was in its view inappropriate.
The Planning Inspector held that despite the fact that the proposal did constitute major development and despite the existence of a 5 year housing land supply the development amounted to sustainable development.
Jeremy Cahill QC acted on behalf of the Appellants. Click here to download a copy of the appeal decision.
