A network event promoting business opportunities between Turkey and the UK is to be held in Istanbul in September.
Emma Edhem, a barrister with No5 Chambers, Deputy Head of the International Group and the first female chairman of the Turkish-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will welcome delegates to the 6th UK Turkey Business Forum on Thursday, September 17.
The event is set to be an expert information exchange about key business opportunities and methods in Turkey and the UK, focusing on finance, arbitration, cross border PPP, hi-tech, innovation and setting up and running a business. Attendees will hear from and network with global sector experts and officials from both countries.
Emma Edhem said: “This is an excellent opportunity to meet both clients and foreign law firms, and will appeal to corporations, firms and individuals looking to engage in business dealings between the UK and Turkey.”
The forum will see a number of key note speeches and panel discussions, exploring such topics as Istanbul as a finance and arbitration centre, digitalisation and innovation and cross border Public Private Partnership.
Emma will also act as moderator during the panel on Istanbul as a finance and arbitration centre at which her No5 Chambers colleague Mohammed Zaman QC is one of the speakers. The panel will look at the key financial and arbitration issues directly affecting cross-border business, visions, targets and the role of Istanbul and London Stock Exchanges.
Emma Edhem is in her second term as chairman of the Turkish-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and an authoritative promoter of bilateral trade and investment opportunities between Turkey and the UK.
Mohammed Zaman QC is well respected for his commercial and international expertise and is a registered practitioner of the DIFC (Dubai International Finance Centre) Courts and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
