No5 Chambers goes on to prove it is has one of the leading sets of Planning and Environment Barristers in the country after Planning Magazine publishes The Annual Planning Law Survey.
Members of No5 Chambers feature highly throughout the survey and Martin Kingston QC has been awarded the number one spot for Residential and Development Plan work, with Chris Young taking the number two spot for Residential and number three spot for Development Plan work. Martin and Chris also finish in the top three for inquiries and hearings and Martin is third in the infrastructure category.
The list of top Planning silks includes four members from No5; Martin Kingston QC (2) Jeremy Cahill QC (22) Richard Humphreys QC (joint 48) and Richard Kimblin QC (joint 48). Planning Magazine has also ranked 4 of No5’s members as Top Rated Planning Juniors: Chris Young (2), Satnam Choongh (8), Peter Goatley (12) and Hugh Richards (25). Thea Osmund-Smith (2) and James Corbet Burcher (8) have been ranked as Highest Rated Planning Juniors under 35.
The Planning Law Survey this year invited the views of those who use the services of barristers, rather than just their chambers peers. So as well as private and public sector planning lawyers, planning consultants, senior council officers and developers were asked for their nominations.
As a result, the 2016 rankings showed some significant changes, with new names taking pole position in most categories.
