A court heard a nursing home worker Vikki Horsman, 19, suffered from 8% burns to her body after being doused with acid in a revenge attack by her former lover, Mohammed Rafiq, 80, earlier this year.
Mr Rafiq, who has been described as ‘controlling’, by the prosecuting barrister, denies inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on Horsman.
Co-accused Shannon Heaps, 23, and Steven Holmes, 25, are said to have carried out the attack in Tividale also deny the charge.
Mr Rafiq also denies one count of perverting the course of justice.
The jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court heard that Ms Horsman was treated for deep burns to her face, neck, shoulder, and upper leg, which will require specialist surgery, and had ‘many years’ of treatment ahead.
The trial continues.
