A High Court Judge who heard evidence at family court hearings in Birmingham has granted short-term injunctions against five men, which ban them from approaching any female under 18 in public places.

The court heard that a teenage girl, who is in local authority care, had been found in a hotel with the men at different times. Police enquiries are on going, and arrests have been made.

Mr Justice Keehan will hear more evidence at a trial in London on November 17, after which he will decide if the injunctions need to be made long term.

The girl cannot be identified in media reports, and the men involved cannot be identified at this stage.

Lorna Meyer QC represented Birmingham City Council.
