Six men have been given jail sentences after kidnapping a man and subjecting him to torture in Kidderminster.
The court heard that Wasim Yaqub has been on the run from Tariq Mahmood for four years until 3rd August last year, when he was taken to a storage unit, stripped and beaten with hammers.
Mahmood, 41, of Castle Bromwich, was jailed for a total of 17 years after pleading guilty to conspiracy to kidnap, false improsionment, grevious bodily harm with intent and unlawful wounding. His brother, Tehery Mahmood, 37, of Stechford, was found guilty of false imprisonmanet and grevious bodily harm and sentenced to 14 years.
Paul Murray, 42, no fixed address, was found guilty of conspiracy to kidnap, false imprisonment, and grievous bodily harm with intent and was given 15 years.
Steven Taylor, 37, of Aston, was sentenced to two and a half years after being found guilty of false imprisonment and Robert Watters, 47, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap and was sentenced to 3 years.
Another man was given a 17 year sentence, but cannot be named for legal reasons.
Robert Collins, 58, Bewdley, the father of Mr Yaqub’s wife, who informed Tatiq Mahmood where Mr Yaqub was, will be sentenced at a later date.
