Two brothers from Stoke-on-Trent have been handed prison sentences after they exposed at least 7 workers to asbestos.

Stafford Crown Court heard that neither A Hussain or I Hussain was qualified or experienced in construction, demolition or refurbishment work and nor were they licensed to remove asbestos.

Following the 3-day Newton Hearing, HHJ Eades found wholly in favour of the prosecution and sentenced both defendants to immediate custody.

The Judge praised counsel and his instructing solicitors for their preparation of the case.

A Hussain was sentenced to 22 weeks and ordered to pay £43,000 in costs, I Hussain was sentenced to 14 weeks.
