Clive Milton, 46, Worcester, has been jailed for 18 years for sex offences against a boy and girl both under 16. His brother, Roy Milton, 50, no fixed address, was also sentenced to 10 years in prison for offences against two young girls.
Worcester Crown Court heard that the brothers had “confessed their sins” in church to a pastor and his wife, who encouraged them to also confess to the police. An investigation was launched but the brothers denied their confessions.
Clive Milton was found guilty of four counts of indecent assault, two counts of indecency with a child and one count of rape between 1998 and 2000, against a girl who at the time was 13 and 14. He was also found guilty of five counts of indecent assault and four counts of buggery between 1987 and 1991 against a boy up to the age of 12.
Mark Heywood QC, prosecuting Clive Milton, said that the boy had been assaulted on visits to the bedsit Clive Milton lived in at the time in Worcester.
Lynette McClement, defending Clive Milton, said he had been abused himself as a child and, though this was no excuse, it could be part of an explanation for his behaviour.
