The Court of Appeal has overturned the stay of proceedings in the Operation Cotton VHCC case, R -v- Crawley and Others.

His Honor Judge Leonard QC halted the serious fraud trial, which was brought by the Financial Conduct Authority, after the defence had made “very substantial… but unsuccessful” efforts to find barristers to represent them.
