Mark McNeil, 43, Kidderminster, has been sentenced to two years 8 months in prison and ordered to sign the sex offender’s register for life.

McNeil was arrested after he began to text a 14-year-old girl, asking for and sending her indecent images in 2012.

He admitted two offences of inciting an underage girl to engage in sexual activity, one change of causing a child to look at an image of sexual activity and one of possessing indecent photographs. Officers found 48 indecent images of other children on his phone.

Detective Constable Ian Davenport said “The offences came to light when the child’s father found the images on her computer and notified the police. Extensive research traced the offender to his address in Kidderminster where he was arrested.”
