Nurton Developments has been granted outline planning permission for a new community, ‘Branston Locks’, in Burton.
The project will create 2,850 new homes and 50 acres of land designed to generate up to 3,000 jobs over the next ten years. It will also include a primary school, medical facilities, food outlets, convenience stores and recreational facilities.
Nurton Developments acquired the land in 2008 and submitted the planning application in November 2012. They will deliver the commercial elements of the project, but will sell parcels of land for residential development.
Martin Kingston QC of No5 Chambers advised on this project.
