Andy Ly, 18, Birmingham, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and violent disorder at Wolverhampton Crown Court over the killing of Ben Morutare, 16, who was stabbed in the leg. Omar Robinson, 19, Birmingham, also pleaded guilty to violent disorder.

The pair had been on trial for murder, but Ly’s plea to the charge of manslaughter was accepted, and Robinson was told he had no case to answer, so the charge of murder will lie on file.

Ben Morutare died from a stab wound on 28th July last year. Witnesses claim that he was chased by up to 80 men before he was killed. He was found outside a social club in Smethwick and later died in hospital. The trial continues.
